BMC have a great team to deliver your project with both on and off-site support to ensure full coverage.  We have built our business around delivering high volumes of dwellings to a quality standard and refined our systems to achieve this.  BMC is now a team of 33 strong. We have a large nationwide supply base of reliable subcontractors/suppliers and Contract Builders to support our own build crews.

Who We Are

Our Amazing Team

An industry expert and Licensed Building Practitioner, Brendan Murray has a decade of experience in construction and project management. As Project Manager, Brendan oversees project delivery and ensures overall client satisfaction. As Director, he leads his team and manages strict compliance to health & safety regulations, continuously driving improvements within the company's processes. Brendan is also actively involved in the development of innovative electronic project management processes.

Having been at the forefront of the construction industry with his own company formed in 2010, Braeden has a multitude of experience in designing and executing construction strategies for various projects. His knowledge and background in all facets of the industry means Braeden is extremely competent in addressing professional interpretation differences and providing resolution.

Operations Director

Ben brings great Commercial Construction experience. A qualified Mechanical Engineer, Ben also completed a Project Management cadet ship and has spent the last 7 years working as a Building Services Coordinator. He has experience in a variety of Projects from Architectural office buildings, Apartments, Hotels, Schools, Corrections facilities, and Warehouses. Ben manages and updates our processes regularly to ensure everything is running smoothy internally. Ben continues to motivate and support our management team and always finds new ways to keep the team up-skilling. Outside of work Ben enjoys sports, fishing and motorbiking.

After completing a certificate in carpentry alongside Brendan, Shaye and Brendan have continued their working relationship and friendship over the past 10 years. Shaye leads the on-site team in Auckland who are currently working on commercial projects, Renovations and high density housing. In shayes spare time he enjoys Tennis, Jet skiing and Fishing.

Northern Construction Manager

Ethan has been in the construction industry for over 10 years now, with majority of his experience being in the architectural sector of the industry. Ethan started with BMC as a Site Manger and learnt everything there is to know about running and managing a site. He now supports all BMC Site Mangers and over looks all projects. Ethan ensures all jobs are running to schedule and all Site Managers and field crew are supported. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, snowboarding, and skateboarding.

Jamie-Lee is classed as the backbone of the company, constantly working with the staff members of Brendan Murray Construction to ensure staffing systems are improved through payroll and supplier charging, by continuing to work on streamlining communications with suppliers and staff members means that Brendan, Braeden, Shaye & Mark can focus on the project performances on each project.

Carl has come from a diverse background in Land Surveying, Project Management and more recently the building material sales industry. Carl brings a unique and valuable skillset to the team here at BMC. Carls’ local industry knowledge and passion for construction will allow us to extend our market leading services to the North Island market.

With 10 plus years’ experience Mark excels at running the everyday operations of the business, Marks credentials are NZDip Quantity Surveying and project management. Prior to Mark starting with BMC he has had extensive experience with contract management, contract pricing and contract programming in the construction industry.

Contracts Manager

With over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Daryl’s knowledge is evident in how he manages a construction site. Daryl’s role within the company is to make sure all health and safety practices are upheld on site and well documented. Daryl reports daily to Braeden to ensure all foreman and sub-contractors are carrying out work to the highest standard.

Kharn has been working alongside BMC for the past two years as a self employed builder, he has been working on the Burlington retirement village for BMC and has recently joined the team to run the next stage at the Coastal view Village in Tahunanui, Nelson. ​ Kharns 10 years in the building industry and extensive eye for detail will ensure the workmanship that is currently being achieved in Christchurch will be upheld as we head further up the south island.

Tom and Brendan have been working alongside each other for the last 8 years, during this time they have grown a respectful and enjoyable working relationship. Brendan has complete trust in Tom and when it comes to dealing with clients, Sub – Contractors and consultants tom has a great approach earning him respect throughout the industry.

Site Manager

Jason moved from the UK in 2013 and started NZ carpentry. Before Jason became a carpenter, he served in Her Majesty’s Forces for 6 years. Jason shows great leadership, he is motivated and organised which shows on his site. His day-to-day activities include reporting, meetings, ordering materials, and managing the teams on site. When Jason isn’t working, he enjoys Downhill MTB, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Ziggy has 10 years in the construction industry. Before moving to BMC Ziggy worked for a small company doing architectural builds, doing this he learnt great eye for detail and quality workmanship. These skills have followed through to his new position of Site Manager at BMC. He is continually looking for new ways for tasks to be completed at a fast and high standard. Ziggy enjoys motivating his team on site and managing sub-contractors to ensure his site is on schedule. Outside of work Ziggy enjoys time on the rugby field and spending time with his wife and two boys.

Site Manager

Matt is a qualified quantity surveyor. With 5 years’ experience from various projects, from schools, libraries, office fitouts, hotels, apartments, and correction facilities just to name a few. Matt enjoys seeing a project from procurement to hand over, he enjoys working with a small team to problem solve and ensure the whole project runs smoothly. Matt has experience in contracts management, procurement and financial reporting and brings a great skillset to the office team at BMC. When Matt isn’t working, he enjoys cross country skiing.

Avneet started as an apprentice with Brendan in 2016 and became qualified in 2020. Avneet has great time management and work ethic, he is reliable and has an eye for detail which makes him the perfect leading hand. Avneet enjoys the extra responsibility of being a leading hand ensuring the job is running to schedule and helping the Site Manager wherever needed. When Avneet isn’t working he enjoys socialising and working out.

Jack Sharpe has taken on the new role of leading hand at our newest village Banbury Park, Halswell. Jack is a great builder who finishes each task to a high standard. Day to day he works along side the site manager by overseeing all builds on site and running daily meetings with the team to set tasks for the day. As a leading hand he enjoys assisting with the management side of the build while still being on the tools. On the weekend Jack enjoys watching and playing sport!

Brendan has been in the building industry for 10+ years with the majority of his experience being in the architectural sector of the industry. Before becoming a carpenter, Brendan was an award-winning head chef! Brendan is the leading builder on site, he guides the field crew to complete tasks to a high standard. On top of that he is also helping to manage subs, run daily morning meetings and support the Site Manager wherever needed. Brendan is a key part to ensuring the project is run smoothly and completed at a high standard. Outside of work he enjoys family time and renovating his family home.
