MEET THE TEAM
Brendan Murray – Project Manager and Business Director
An industry expert and Licensed Building Practitioner, Brendan Murray has a decade of experience in construction and project management. As Project Manager, Brendan oversees project delivery and ensures overall client satisfaction. As Director, he leads his team and manages strict compliance to health & safety regulations, continuously driving improvements within the company's processes. Brendan is also actively involved in the development of innovative electronic project management processes. With an aptitude for communication, Brendan liaises with clients, architects, engineers and contractors to ensure client requirements are met. Brendan’s extensive knowledge of the construction industry reassures clients that their project will be managed and completed to an exemplary standard.
Braeden Petrie – Project Manager & Operations Director
Having been at the forefront of the construction industry with his own company formed in 2010, Braeden has a multitude of experience in designing and executing construction strategies for various projects. His knowledge and background in all facets of the industry means Braeden is extremely competent in addressing professional interpretation differences and providing resolution. Effectively communicating with Brendan, they ensure all onsite operations are to schedule and site managers and foreman are aware of timelines and targets. With Braeden’s 15 years’ experience in construction, the client can be assured the project will be on time and budget.
Shaye Welch - North Island Director
After completing a certificate in carpentry alongside Brendan, Shaye and Brendan have continued their working relationship and friendship over the past 10 years. Shaye leads the team in Auckland who are currently working on commercial projects after completing a number of high density projects throughout the South Auckland area. Shaye is constantly working on improving company systems and ensures the training of junior staff is kept to a high level. Shaye's passion for the construction industry is shown in his day to day work.
Mark Shaw – Contracts Manager
With 10 plus years’ experience Mark excels at running the everyday operations of the business, Marks credentials are NZDip Quantity Surveying and project management. Prior to Mark starting with BMC he has had extensive experience with contract management, contract pricing and contract programming in the construction industry. Mark has predominantly operated in the residential sector managing Townhouse and multi-unit developments in excess of $10 Million Dollars.
Ben Watson – General Manager
Ben is a new addition to the BMC team and brings great Commercial Construction experience. A qualified Mechanical Engineer, Ben also completed a Project Management cadet ship and has spent the last 7 years working as a Building Services Coordinator. He has experience in a variety of Projects from Architectural office buildings, Apartments, Hotels, Schools, Corrections facilities and Warehouses. Ben has a proven track record of delivering successful projects and always had good client feedback. He is great at building relationships and finding solutions to ensure client’s needs are met.
Jamie-Lee Tu’ua – Office Administrator
Jamie-Lee is classed as the backbone of the company, constantly working with the staff members of Brendan Murray Construction to ensure staffing systems are improved through payroll and supplier charging, by continuing to work on streamlining communications with suppliers and staff members means that Brendan, Braeden, Shaye & Mark can focus on the project performances on each project.
Daryl Dawson – Quality Assurance & Health and Safety Manager
With over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Daryl’s knowledge is evident in how he manages a construction site. Daryl’s role within the company is to make sure all health and safety practices are upheld on site and well documented. Daryl reports daily to Braeden to ensure all foreman and sub-contractors are carrying out work to the highest standard.
Thomas Nyenhuis – Site Manager
Tom and Brendan have been working alongside each other for the last 8 years, during this time they have grown a respectful and enjoyable working relationship. Brendan has complete trust in Tom and when it comes to dealing with clients, Sub – Contractors and consultants tom has a great approach earning him respect throughout the industry.
Ethan Dette – Site Manager
Ethan has been in the construction industry for over 10 years now, with majority of his experience being in the architectural sector of the industry. Ethan adds great value to Brendan Murray Construction by supporting our junior staff members with upskilling and ensures that they are up-to-date with relevant changes and updates to the building code.
Rhees Jones – Civil Contracting Manager
Rhees has been in the construction industry for the past 15 years, he is a trade qualified carpenter and has extensive training on heavy machinery, Rhees worked as a civil contractor for 5 years prior to beginning his carpentry apprenticeship and is now running our Civils and hard landscaping division, this role compiles of site scrapes and dig out, driveways and paths and patios.
Kharn Mangos – Nelson Branch Manager
Kharn has been working alongside BMC for the past two years as a self employed builder, he has been working on the Burlington retirement village for BMC and has recently joined the team to run the next stage at the Coastal view Village in Tahunanui, Nelson.
Kharns 10 years in the building industry and extensive eye for detail will ensure the workmanship that is currently being achieved in Christchurch will be upheld as we head further up the south island.
